- We never considered a career path other than the sea. It is fun!
- One afternoon we found so many skipjack tuna hat we managed to load it using a seine. There were so many that once they went in, it was impossible for them to find a way out. A crew member had to plunge into the sea and get the fish out one by one as the animals were dying and falling to the bottom. We landed 1,500 kilos!
- We tore our net at the end of the Mogan dock. We had to be towed to loose the entanglement. But the worst part was spending a whole week sewing up having to stay onshore. You learn how to sew by watching others do it.
